С обзиром на многе хрпе новчића који су поредани. Све ове новчиће треба да сакупимо у минималном броју корака где у једном кораку можемо сакупити једну хоризонталну линију новчића или вертикалну линију новчића и прикупљени новчићи треба да буду континуирани.

Input : height[] = [2 1 2 5 1] Each value of this array corresponds to the height of stack that is we are given five stack of coins where in first stack 2 coins are there then in second stack 1 coin is there and so on. Output : 4 We can collect all above coins in 4 steps which are shown in below diagram. Each step is shown by different color. First we have collected last horizontal line of coins after which stacks remains as [1 0 1 4 0] after that another horizontal line of coins is collected from stack 3 and 4 then a vertical line from stack 4 and at the end a horizontal line from stack 1. Total steps are 4.

Овај проблем можемо решити методом завади па владај. Видимо да је увек корисно уклонити хоризонталне линије одоздо. Претпоставимо да радимо на стековима од л индекса до р индекса у кораку рекурзије сваки пут када изаберемо минималну висину, уклонимо те многе хоризонталне линије након чега ће стек бити разбијен на два дела л на минимум и минимални +1 до р и ми ћемо рекурзивно позивати те поднизе. Друга ствар је да такође можемо да сакупљамо новчиће користећи вертикалне линије тако да ћемо изабрати минимум између резултата рекурзивних позива и (р - л) јер користећи (р - л) вертикалне линије увек можемо прикупити све новчиће.
Као и сваки пут када позивамо сваки подниз и налазимо минимум те укупне временске сложености решења биће О(Н2)
